Local Assist are looking for experienced Claims Handlers to join our expanding team.

Local Assist provides claim validation and emergency contractor deployment for domestic properties claims, for multiple clients in the insurance industry.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a great attitude, along with a grounded knowledge of insurance claims handling (preferrable in the emergency sector)

The position would suit someone with a confident telephone manner, good IT skills and with experience of working in a fast-paced office environment. 

The role will include triage of new emergency claims, policy cover review, acceptance, or repudiation of an emergency claims right through to the deployment of approved panel contractor to rectify the insured works.

This will include booking of appointments with the contractor and customer and keeping an open line of communication with all parties until the emergency has been resolved.

Package

  • Salary of £17,500 – £21,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Hours: Various shifts available

Responsibilities include:

  • Call Handling – inbound and outbound
  • Recording and triaging new claims
  • Emergency policy cover decisions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customer/ clients and engineers
  • Deployment and management of contractors
  • Daily management of on-going emergency jobs
  • Maintaining accurate and concise claim files on our inhouse systems
  • Collate updates and proactively manage jobs (in line with SLA/KPI’s)
  • Updating both the internal and clients CRM system
  • To maintain a calm and positive demeanour while speaking to customer’s experiencing a potentially distressing situation and management of client/ customer expectations.

 

Experience/Skills:

  • Experience in a claims handling role is essential
  • A confident telephone manner and positive attitude
  • A willingness to work in a high paced fast-moving environment
